Unmute

Unmute

Case Study

Brand: Meta

Problem: Live theater isn’t inclusive. The Deaf community feels left out and isolated. They currently sit there and smile. Pretending it’s okay to not have access.

Audience: The Deaf community

Solution: Unmute the stage for the Deaf community through wearable tech. The sounds of the show are converted into haptic vibrations and visual cues.

Technology Execution: The Woojer Haptic Strap turns the sounds of the show into a full body experience. The Meta Ray-Ban Display Glasses, powered by Meta Intelligence, display Rakish Entertainment’s Caption with Intention© which are color-coded per actor, scaled to volume, and animated for emotion.

Brand Manifesto

Meta

The crescendo of the orchestra as the curtain rises.

The stomp of a tap number as their feet strike the floor.

The clash of every blade in an intense battle scene.

The roar of the crowd when the joke lands just right.

The thud of footsteps as each actor crosses the stage.

This is how the Deaf community experiences live theater.

Isolated from the full experience of a show.

Meta’s mission is to bring the world closer together.

But that isn’t possible if the stage stays silent for some.

Our tech brings the stage to life for the Deaf.

Because silence shouldn’t be the loudest part of a show.
